Light on Skin, Heavy on Results: My Go-To Day Cream Approach

SKINCARE

I don’t want to feel my day cream. That might sound strange, but it’s true.

The skincare world is full of "multi-taskers"—products that promise to moisturize, tint, protect, illuminate, and maybe solve world hunger. I don’t trust them. If something claims to do two (or five) things, I assume it won’t do any of them well. So I skip those.

I go for lightweight, simple, unscented creams, with no colour and no drama. Again, scent plays a big role in my life, and I’ve learned to avoid anything that could later tie my skin routine to a bad emotional memory. It sounds small, but it’s not. Scent-free keeps things clean—emotionally and literally.

I’m also not rich enough to keep testing what’s trending just because a blogger got a PR box. I want something that works, consistently, even if it’s not flashy. Budget matters, and I’d rather spend on quality than waste on hype.

It took me a while to find a day cream that met all my quiet, stubborn standards. Some were too greasy, too scented, or just full of empty promises. But eventually, I found one that felt right—light, scent-free, and reliable. No hype, no drama—just a cream that quietly does exactly what it should.
